Testimony Of Geneva Moynihan

I was eighteen, alone with a baby girl, not having a clue on how to be a mother. The father left when he found out I was pregnant, my mother died when I was sixteen, my dad was a drunk, and moved to Florida. When Jena was six months old, I meet a guy named Chris. Probably wasn't the best choice seeing how he was a drug dealer, but when I looked at him, there was something that told me to stay with him. Thank God I did.

Two years after knowing his parents, they started talking to us about Jesus, and the ministry that they had joined. It was different than any other churches I had heard of, I got interested and listened. We accepted Jesus as our Lord and savior. I started going to bible studies, as Chris sat home not to miss any customers. A few weeks later I found out that I pregnant. It turned out to be a rough pregnancy, the seizure's I had, got worse during this time. They had to take chances and put me on medication for it. At this time Chris decided to go to bible studies with me, and what he had missed out on, would have to wait. His parents asked us when we were going to get married. Chris said never, which I was saddened by. To my surprise on Mothers Day he had asked me to marry him, and we got married one week later, just before the baby was born. Then I was scared: I have two girls and my husband is a drug dealer. A few more months passed by and his mom stops to visit. She told Chris the Lord said he had to stop or he would get caught. I didn't think she knew that he was a drug dealer. So Chris had decided to have his mom and I flush all the drugs down the toilet, as he didn't want to see all his money getting flushed. Later that day we got to see who really were our friends. Nobody! They had all ran out and called us freaks.

That summer we went to a tent revival, and meet the head minister. He asked me if I wanted to be free of the seizures. I told him yes, he prayed for me and I haven't had another one.

A few years down the road, I decided to be rebellious. I started to get seizures again, and got sick. (I was told that I was working myself to death)!
Thought I had to do everything or it wouldn’t get done, so that is what I tried to do. I left my husband in the mist of all this, thinking life would be better without him. Boy, it didn’t take long to realize I needed him and most of all I needed the Lord. We ended up getting back together after some trial and tribulations, but it was all well worth it. I believe at this point in my life is when I actually accepted the Lord into my life. Oh, by the way, the baby was born healthy, Praise God.
God Bless,
Geneva Moynihan
